Dome GUI Startup

1. Bring up the Workspace menu and select Dome. In the sub-menu choose “Start Dome GUI”. As the pop-up appears you will notice several important pieces of

information about the condition of the dome, shutter position, shutter open/close.

For a more detailed display of dome status, select System menu and highlight

“System Status”. A separate gui will appear with information about dome

position, vents (open/closed), shutter (open/closed), directional path (shortest, counter-clockwise, clockwise).

2. From the System menu, you have the option to open or close the dome vents. The vents are located at the top of the dome. If weather conditions permit,

you may open the dome vents at this time. To comfirm the command was

successful look at the System Status GUI.

3. From the Dome GUI, open Dome menu and select “Home Dome”. This would be a good time to bring up the Manual Entry GUI. This option is also found in the Dome menu under the “Move to…” submenu. In the Manual Entry GUI there is a space provided to specify a particular azimuth position you would like the dome to move to.
