Preparing the FIF Gui for Night Work (01/01/04 Graver)
- On KVM Switch #2, on the “frijole” monitor,
open up the “shortcut to FIF Gui” icon.
- Click on the white arrow in the upper left
corner of the Gui to start the software, and wait for the message center
to say “Initialization is Complete”.
- Click the “ON” buttons (green) that say “LB1”,
“LB2”, and “CB” (upper left of Gui).
- Turn to Channel 3 on the big TV screen and you
should see the fiber arms of FIF.
- On the toolbar, Click “Movement”, and then click
on “Stow/Home HRS”. (**while moving
the probes, you will
get an
error message. Just press continue. Do NOT press abort!) You must wait until it is
completely done homing before you attempt to click anything else (except
“continue” on the error message Gui).
Once HRS is done homing (green light goes out), click “Stow/Home
MOS A”; again, do not click anything else in the Gui until the probe is
done homing (green light goes out).
- Type 242,000 in the “HRS Probe Position” box
and click the green “Start” button under “HRS Probe”.
- Click position update to be sure the value
gets to ~242,000 and check visually on TV for stopped motion.
- Now that both probes
are homed and the HRS probe is moved to the correct position, click off on
the “LB1” and “LB2” and click the
red button labelled “Both Cameras Off”.
***Make
sure glycol is on when Gui is started up! And if Gui is having any ‘issues’ at any point,
click the bluish-purple “End Program” button on the right part of the Gui, and
start over at Step #2. (This is better
for the software than just clicking File>Exit)
