marginal conditions, wait for the TO to arrive on site and let him or her make
the decision to open.
1.0 Open the dome and CCAS
shutters.
1.1
To open the CCAS shutter locate the “CCAS Shutter
Open” button, which can be found
in the equipment rack just below the KVM Switches
Panel. Press it to open the shutter.
1.2 To open Dome select
“Shutter>Open” from the Dome Automation System (DAS).
1.3 The three dome shutter
clamps will open sequentially, then the shutter will start to drive open.
1.4 Go out into the dome to
observe the opening shutter and to look and listen for any signs of abnormal
behavior. Verify that the shutter opens
completely. Also verify that the CCAS
shutter is open.
1.5 Go back to the control room
and record the opening time, mean truss temperature, and outdoor temperature in
the marked place on the white board.
2.0 Shutdown the chiller and open the ring wall
ventilation louvers.
2.1 Go to the
already activated ‘smoke’ shell on jove and at the prompt type ‘jcoff’ and
press
enter.
This turns off the chiller and AHU’s with the exception of the return
fans.
2.2 To turn
off the return fans go to the facility computer and highlight ‘return fans
start/stop’,
click the right mouse button, select
‘off’ and click ‘OK’.
2.3 Go out
into the dome to the louver operation panel, which is located on the dome wall
between
the JLG and exhaust fan 11. Make sure the master control switch on the upper
left of
the panel is positioned to operate all louvers. Push the ‘open’ button. Verify that all louvers

control boxes located adjacent to each fan. Located near
the bottom of each box
are two toggle switches. The toggle
switch used to turn on the fan is
the bottom toggle which
is labeled ‘operation mode’.
3.2 Move the toggle switch from ‘drive’ to ‘off’
then to ‘bypass’. As the fan starts a
screeching
noise can be heard. This is the fan belt that drives the fan
being engaged by the electric drive
motor. The noise will stop as
the belt comes up to speed.
3.3 Exhaust fan 11 is used only to vent heat from
the JLG and is in continuous operation.
Fault
conditions and Solutions:
A) Fans will not come on. (This procedure is left in the manual only to
state another way of operating the exhaust fans manually and is not to be used
as a fault solution.) If a fan or fans
does not operate close the exhaust fan cover and notify the day staff.
1) The fans will have to be
turned on manually. Go to the facility
computer and activate the window titled ‘NETWORK MAP – MCDON’.
2) Double click on entry
labeled ‘EXHAUST FANS’.
3) Once this window opens,
right click on ‘EXHAUST FAN 1 START/STOP’.
4) A dialog box will appear
that allows you to toggle between Automatic, Off and On operation for the
fan. Choose ON and click OK.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 for
each exhaust fan. The fans are number 1,
2, 3, 11, 12, and 13.

1) Do not
try to move the louver. Damage can occur
to the drive motors. Call the
appropriate member of
the day staff. They will have to fix the
problem immediately.
C)
Dome shutter does not open.
1) See
section under dome and shutter operational tests for fault solution.
