SAMS STARTUP

General Description:

Startup the SAMS software

1.0 Start SAMS Server.

1.1 Place the cursor in the left most monitor, second screen, then press and hold down the right mouse button.

1.2 A menu will appear. Select ‘SAMS’ from the menu; then from the submenu select ‘Start SAMS Server - Gap’ and release the right mouse button. A shell will appear.

1.3 Labview will start, and in turn, automatically start and run SAMS Server .

1.4 Watch the status bar at the bottom of the SAMS Server interface until the message “Running Main Application Loop” appears.

1.5 Go back to the Jove menu and select ‘Start SAMS GUI’ The SAMS GUI interface will appear.

1.6 From SAMs GUI select “Operate” from Change Mode This concludes the SAMS

software startup.

Fault Conditions and Solutions:

metric is steadily growing

PMCS new combo and both PMCS and TSPS busy lights show constant orange

SPS out of memory (see SPS section)

SAMS/PMC loop not cycling

check .ttp values in SAMS

if sams sending all zeros & 7 sec from get ttp to ttp done

the needed correction size may exceed the max setting

try opening the max move size a bit

if sending all zeros, & 1 sec ... ? dunno

metric exceedingly large

check edge sensor data

if entire bank (see mirror diagram) gives values of -384.00

open SPS/SAMS loop (select all no's in PMUI - SAMS Gui)

quit/close all SAMS software

power cycle brick (in UER)

check MTM master timing module in igloo (goes to brick in UER)

3 channels - all hould be pulsed, not steady

if problem persists a hub board may be bad - SAMS deadlined

bring SAMS software back up

reclose SPS/SAMS loop

sensor reported bad

open loop

return to standby

remove in SAMS

back to operate

wait a few minutes

check for error msg's

if none

reclose loop

SAMS

??? server halted (when starting labview)

~10 minutes did not elapse since old version of SAMS was closed.

wait and retry.
