= HET Operations Manual The purpose of doing afternoon Operations Engineering is to insure that the telescope is in the correct state for conducting nighttime observations. The essential ideas are to: * Check early on the dome air conditioning to make sure that it is set properly for the anticipated sunset temperature. * Bring up systems needed for nighttime operations and, check that they are running correctly. * Recover from any issues found during Operations Engineering and recover from them before science begins. * Record all issues accurately in bugzilla and in the OPS comment sections.[[br]] This document is the expanded form of the "OPs Checklist". == Contents I.
